IOWA kiwi

Iowa Kiwi is a 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe that was the first full-blood addition to Carpenter Creek Ranch. Kiwi is out of Heartland Bojangles and Parkdale Dot, two top tier Valais breeders in New Zealand. Kiwi came to the U.S. as an embryo and was raised by Iowa Valais prior to coming to our farm as a lamb. Kiwi's full blood sister, Iowa Koala, was awarded Maximum Points and Reserve Champion at the 2023 National Show. We're very proud to say that Kiwi graded (-1) Maximum Points by the  Swiss Certified International Judges at the 2024 and 2025 National Show. The Judges included Gerallt Jones  of Snowdonia, Raymond Irvine and Jenni McAllister of Highland,  Jamie Wood of Prendwick, and Phil  Garrod of Puddle Lane...all renowned breeders of Swiss genetics. Professional grading is very important for purchasers interested in breeding and showing the best. Kiwi is extremely well marked with large black knee patches and gorgeous curls. Kiwi is registered with both VBSANA and VBSS with DNA confirmed at UC Davis and Flock 54. 

Carpenter Creek's Meggen is a full-blood 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe lamb out of  our Iowa Kiwi (-1) and Highland Isa.  Meggen is named after a municipality in the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland. Meggen was shown at the Iowa National Show in 2025 as a young ewe lamb and graded by the International Grading Team. We're pleased to say she graded -2 (334). Meggen also took 1st place in her class at the 2025 National Iowa Valais Show.  Meggen has fantastic conformation and thick wool. Check our those legs! Meggen was also part of our invetro program with RSG, so we are expecting Meggen (-2) x Iowa Kevin (max point) lambs in 2026.  

Meggen is registered with both VBSANA & VBSS with DNA confirmation through UC Davis & Flock 54.

Carpenter Creek's Martigny is a full-blood 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe lamb out of  our Iowa Kiwi (-1) and Highland Isa.  Martigny is named after a historic town in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. Martigny was shown at the Iowa National Show in 2025 as a young ewe lamb and graded by the International Grading Team. We're pleased to say she graded -2 (334).  Martigny has fantastic conformation and near perfect markings.  Martigny was also part of our invetro program with RSG, so we are expecting Martigny (-2) x Iowa Kevin (max point) lambs in 2026.  

Meggen is registered with both VBSANA & VBSS with DNA confirmation through UC Davis & Flock 54.

Carpenter Creek's Naters is a full-blood 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe lamb out of  our CAR Meggen (-2)/1st place class champion and Iowa Kevin (max points).  Naters is named after a municipality in the district of Brig in the canton of Valais in Switzerland.  Naters has fantastic conformation and thick wool. She has all the appropriate markings of all four leg patches and the bum spot. Naters was a fast favorite in this group of lambs and quickly added to the keeper pen. Naters was born 06/22/26, so is a tad too young to grade at the 2026 show. We're excited to show her off in 2027. 

Naters' registration is pending with VBSANA. 

Carpenter Creek's Nadja is a full-blood 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe lamb out of  our CAR Meggen (-2)/1st place class champion and Iowa Kevin (max points).  Natda is named after the most famous Swiss yodeler, Nadja Räss, who is widely recognized as Switzerland's premier modern yodeling star, professor, and cultural ambassador. Nadja is a big ewe lamb with fantastic conformation and thick wool. She has all the appropriate markings of all four leg patches and the bum spot, although her back left patch is minimal.  Nadja was born 06/22/26, so is a tad too young to grade at the 2026 show. We're excited to show her off in 2027.
