IOWA kiwi

Iowa Kiwi is a 100% Valais Blacknose Ewe that was the first full-blood addition to Carpenter Creek Ranch. Kiwi is out of Heartland Bojangles and Parkdale Dot, two top tier Valais breeders in New Zealand. Kiwi came to the U.S. as an embryo and was raised by Iowa Valais prior to coming to our farm as a lamb. Kiwi's full blood sister, Iowa Koala, was awarded Maximum Points and Reserve Champion at the 2023 National Show. We're very proud to say that Kiwi graded (-1) Maximum Points by the  Swiss Certified International Judges at the 2024 and 2025 National Show. The Judges included Gerallt Jones  of Snowdonia, Raymond Irvine and Jenni McAllister of Highland,  Jamie Wood of Prendwick, and Phil  Garrod of Puddle Lane...all renowned breeders of Swiss genetics. Professional grading is very important for purchasers interested in breeding and showing the best. Kiwi is extremely well marked with large black knee patches and gorgeous curls. Kiwi is registered with both VBSANA and VBSS with DNA confirmed at UC Davis and Flock 54.

    carPENTER CREEK'S MESA

Mesa is an F2 ewe out of Franki and Carpenter Creek's Luek. Mesa had her show debut at the 2025 National Show in Iowa.  Wow did she impress!  Mesa won 1st place in her class of F2 ewes (based on age). Mesa went on to win Champion F2 ewe (all ages).  Mesa moved on to finals for breed-up ewes where the best of all classes (F1-F4) were competing against each other. Mesa proceeded to win Grand Champion Breed-up Ewe! The Judges, Raymond Irvine (Highland) and Jamie Wood (Prendwick) had very kind words to say about our Mesa, comparing her looks to that of a purebred.  Mesa's conformation, appearance and wool are outstanding on their own, but to be on an F2 ewe at an early stage in the breed-up makes Mesa our pride and joy.  Mesa has a full black face, all 4 patches and a black bum spot.  She is a fantastic example of what Luek can produce. Check out her pictures below!

*Mesa is recorded with both VBSANA and VBSS and is DNA verified with Flock54

She's been a fantastic mother to her lambs.

*Kaydence is recorded with both VBSANA and VBSS and is DNA verified with Flock54 and UC Davis. She has been paired with Carpenter's Leuk and F2 offspring CAR Moab (wether) is available for purchase.

        Larkspur

Carpenter Creek Larkspur is a 2024 F2 Valais Blacknose Ewe lamb out of our Kaydence crossed with Highland Danny, so she has a lot of maximum points in her ancestry. Larkspur will produce her first offspring in 2026. She is registered with both VBSANA and VBSS with DNA confirmed at UC Davis and Flock 54.

        Benji

        Larkspur

        Larkspur

HVR Benji is an F1 ewe out of babydoll Foundation. Benji's sire is Passchendale Flanders, a Swiss Valais with ARR/ARR genotype. Benji is a smaller version of the F1 Valais and polled due to her babydoll dam. Benji has produced some adorable offspring including some that mirror full-blood Valais in markings and wool. Check out Carpenter Creek Kotton, Kolton and Mojave on our "sold" page.

        Franki

HVR Franki is an F1 ewe out of babydoll Foundation. Franki is a smaller version of the F1 Valais and polled due to her babydoll dam. The combination of Valais and Babydoll produces super friendly lambs! Franki was the Dam of the 2025 F2 Champion and the Supreme Breed-Up Ewe Champon, CAR Mesa. Check out Mesa's profile to see this amazing F2!

        Ethel

        Franki

        Franki

Ethel is a registered Scottish Blackface and one of our foundation ewes. Ethel has been paired with some of the best sires (via imported semen) and consistently produces twin or triplet lambs. Ethel is an easy breeder and an excellent mother.

        The "recips"

Our recip ewes are a very important and spoiled part of our program. Named after some amazing mamas in our family: Jan, Sue, Sharon, Mary, Tina, Beth and Sandy  are polypay and wool cross ladies that are the best mothers!
